SOUNDBOARDS

Bear Claw Sitka Spruce $400

Bear claw spruce is usually random figure that resembles "claw marks" left by a bear, exhibiting long squiggly "claw marks" (bears don'‘t actually account for this figure). Another quality found in Bear Claw Spruce are shorter striations that run in the direction of the grain and are thinner and more numerous. The result of this figure is a terrific shimmer. Each top is unique and adds individuality to the guitar. My personal favorite top wood today. All my bear claw tops are quarter sawn and stiff resulting in a probable stronger sound.

Additional soundboard options include the following:
Engleman Spruce $290-400å
German Spruce $600
Adirondack Spruce $600
Western Red Cedar $200
Bear Claw Sitka Spruce $400
Moving a sound hole location or other sound apertures
(f-holes, round holes, ovals etc.)
$390

BACK AND SIDES

Rosewood guitar back

Brazilian Rosewood back

Brazilian Rosewood detail

Brazilian Rosewood $3000 – 5000+

We use the same criteria when selecting our back and sides that we use for the top in that we only chose the best quality available. There are several choices and this is something we can discuss when you place your order. One of the most prized woods of all time in guitar building is Brazilian Rosewood. We can select from two grades here and the prices will vary in those grades. One is "Imperial Grade," and this is the best stuff currently available now. The other grade has beautiful grain variation as well, and we can discuss when you place your order.

Additional back and side options include the following:
Flamed Maple $600
Quilted Maple $600-1000
Flamed Koa $1500+
Macassar Ebony $800
Zircote $700

NECK AND EXTRAS

Cutaway bevel side view

Cut away bevels $750

These are bevels in the cut away area giving you more potential for reach to the higher fret region. These can be done on the Eva cut away (the Eva Cut is a hybrid of Venetian and Florentine), the Venetian soft cut away or the more pointed sharper Florentine cut away. Whatever your choice of cut-aways, these cut-away bevels can be applied.

Arm rest bevel $750

This is a bevel placed in the area where your arm rests when playing your guitar. It is blended into the binding seamlessly. I do not make this an extravagant bevel like I have seen with others. I want to leave as much of the guitars top unaffected as possible and I have ergonomically placed this in exactly the right location. Here the bevel blends in organically with the guitar and looks as classy as the guitar itself.

Laminated neck contrast

Laminated neck

Laminated neck $575

It is a forgone conclusion that laminating wood in this fashion far outperforms the standard one-piece mahogany neck. It is more stable and the longevity of that stability is evident. Also, it is stiffer contributing more to the guitar strings
restoring force.

In addition, the appearance will give your guitar that stark contrast to other guitars out there with a mahogany neck; it will be a unique piece unto itself.

Top burst option $350

This option is currently unique to Pederson Custom Guitars. It is a modern/alternative addition to the acoustic guitar. It sets the top off, and if bear claw figure is used, you will really have a sonic eye catcher.

Additional neck and extras options include the following:
Cut away $750 (does NOT include the cut away bevels)
Gale ports $700
Gold frets and hardward $210
