The Garden Sonic is an EVA-JM model. The inlay is called "Last Night In The Garden" and is Adam and Eve's last night in the Garden after the original sin.
I was in Healdsburg in '09 when a guy approached me and, after looking and hearing my guitars, asked me if I would build a guitar for a collection that he was going to call 'The Sonic Sitka Collection'. Here was his story: He had a log processed into many guitar tops and he wanted to test the wood from the same tree over years and decades of being strung up on different guitars. There were no design restrictions. To my knowledge there were 80 or so luthiers projected to take part in this. I said I would to it and he gave me a top from the trunk of his car in the parking lot. I didn't have any initial plans or ideas on what I was going to do…but I knew it was going to be great. |

At home I had this inlay idea of a 'Garden of Eden' type thing, and it was actually a complete drawing on a piece of paper. As I was talking to this fellow heading up the collection, the "wheels" in my head started spinning – burning rubber in fact. I thought about that inlay idea and the following April guitar show (2010) in Ft Lauderdale, FL, and how I might have something ready by then. |

To make this all come together, at that same Healdsburg '09 show I had another guy approach me with some Brazilian Rosewood. He had some sets in his car trunk and wanted me to come look them over and I spied one set. I told him "if something sold at Healdsburg that I would grab that one" and he said "take it for consignment, I need some pics on my site with examples of wood I'm trying to sell too". So I took him up on that offer and things started coming together for this very special guitar. |

The inlay is called "Last Night In The Garden" and is Adam and Eve's last night in the Garden after the original sin. Adam is dejected and Eve, with a seductive look, takes her last dip in the water there as the moon reflection lights up the night. |

The top is Bear Claw Sitka Spruce. The back and sides are awesome Brazilian rosewood. The fingerboard, bridge and headstock overlay are ebony. Abalone binds the perimeter of the guitar. The neck is laminated maple and I darkened it up some as you can see. |

The "Garden Sonic" in the "Sonic Sitka Collection" debuted it in Ft. Lauderdale FL at the New Port Guitar Show in April 2010. This guitar is available for purchase. If you are interested, please give me a call. I don't think I'll refuse any reasonable offer.
