There are differences in the hollow bodies and the arch tops, mainly in construction. On the semi hollow body chambered guitars, we start with a chunk of mahogany for the body core wood. Then we chamber areas in the guitar around the f-holes to enhance the guitar's tonal acoustic qualities. The neck section goes through the body on Pederson Custom (formerly Abyss) semi hollows and the tone chambers are to each side. This is a 100% custom hand made guitar made from scratch by Kevin L. Pederson.

The Pederson Custom (formerly Abyss) semi hollow body is great for live situations where you have to run the gamut from blues to rock in your playing style. The tops are carved relatively the same as other Pederson Custom (formerly Abyss) arch tops, with minor differences.

The general specifications on the J3 and NS3 are very similar, with the main difference being the J3 uses a select Koa top and the NS3 used a flamed maple top.

This style of guitar is thinner than its cousin the J2. The inside will be chambered around the f-holes to increase the effective acoustic volume. And in higher gain amp situations, the J3 won't have a tendency to create feedback, like other designs. Equipped with the optional piezo, the J3 and NS3 guitars will produce great acoustic, rock, blues and jazzy styled tones, making these some of the most versatile guitars you can purchase.

It is a medium round neck with 1st fret thickness of 13/16", a 1-11/16" wide nut and a 2-1/4" wide heel.

Seymour Duncan pickups are voiced for vintage tones and with a pull of the volume knob, we offer coil split wiring standard. The master volume, tone and three way switch is a player friendly situation for live stage performances, but no slouch in conjunction with studio options. The bottom line is that there are plenty of selections with this set up, whether you are looking for pure country or rocking blues this guitar is the one.
